yesterday was the day i officially stepped down from cedar symphonic band.
to all the new leaders: all the best. words can't say much, but time can. experience, love and serve, then amazing things can happen.
to all the old leaders: haha, we will still be the short and tall people ah.
to my dearest section: i will miss you all most of all! play hard, i'll be back.

a little twinge of melancholy is nudging me, but i know it will go away. i will miss the instruments: fixing broken horn strings, plucking out stuck trumpet mouthpieces, screwing in clarinet screws, searching high and low for saxophone ligatures, tugging out stuck valves, fiddling with tubas, never being able to fix a flute and all those stuff.

also, i will miss conducting. even though my conducting skills are mediocre, confusing at times, and sometimes not followed, i will still miss doing it. sometimes, i need a great big push and a lot of courage, but frankly, it really is an exhilarating experience. i still remember my first ever time trying, it was during cedar openhouse 2006 (right?). i remember a rush of wonder when i lifted my hands and then brought them down and the band started playing "Dancing Queen". thanks then and now to sweejin, that i ever had this chance.

all in all, the band is in good hands. what can i say, but that my time has passed. it has been a good 4 years. thank God for putting me there, now i will leave it for Him whether to continue on or not.
